Advanced Negotiation And Problem Solving Skills Training For Professionals, OSCE Mission In Kosovo

 Ted Feifer led a workshop in advanced negotiation and problem solving for 23 international and national staff members of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, in Pristina December 6-7, 2006. Workshop objectives were to refresh and reinforce negotiation and diplomatic skills, by helping participants become more effective in crucial conversations, understand and manage emotions in negotiations, and strengthen skills in group practical problem-solving.

Trainers Ted Feifer and Jacki Wilson held a workshop on negotiation and conflict management skills for 35 businesswomen from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, in partnership with the Business Women’s Association of Uzbekistan, in Tashkent, October 20-22, 2004.  The workshop was opened by the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Svetlana Inamova, whose portfolio includes women's issues.

Ted Feifer and Skip Cole of the Institute’s Education and Training Center/ International conducted a one-day workshop for a multi-region group sponsored by the State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program in Washington, January 11, 2008, on the “Responsibility to Protect.” This concept explores the responsibility of the international community when states fail to fulfill their sovereign responsibilities to their citizens.

Kenya Youth Workshop

In the rugged highlands of Laikipia at the Gallman Memorial Wildlife Conservancy, Kenyan youth met for three days to turn energy and creativity into projects with goals, targeted audiences and intended outcomes.  The workshop was facilitated by USIP Senior Program Officer Jacki Wilson with consultant Dr. Eran Fraenkel.
