Ted Feifer and Nina Sughrue led this program for businesswomen in Central Asia held in Bukhara, Uzbekistan, March 4-6, 2008. This was the seventh workshop we have held in Central Asia since 2002, and our fifth partnership with the Businesswomen’s Association of Uzbekistan (BWA).
Training Rwandan Peacekeepers for UNAMID in Darfur
Ted Feifer and Keith Bowen led a third workshop for Rwandan Defense Force officers preparing an infantry battalion for deployment with the United Nations/African Union Hybrid Mission in Darfur (UNAMID). The training was conducted in partnership with the Department of State's African Contingency Operations and Training Assistance Program (ACOTA).

Lying northeast of Baghdad and stretching towards Iran in the East and Kurdistan to the North, Diyala Province was once the breadbasket of Iraq. But a seemingly never-ending series of conflicts left the province battered and tense: the American invasion, Sunni resistance and strife between Sunni and Shia militias, the fight against al Qaeda, and tension between Iraqi and Kurdistan Regional forces.

Professional Training Workshops in Conflict Management and Negotiation Skills in the Philippines
Building on their six training workshops with Armed Forces of the Philippines officers earlier this year, USIP trainers Ted Feifer and Jacki Wilson just completed two workshops in conflict management and negotiation skills for multi-sector participants from the conflict areas of Mindanao and Sulu.
