The Other Side of Gender series addresses wartime sexual violence by taking into account male gender issues.

USIP’s Gender and Peacebuilding Initiative presents The Other Side of Gender, which addresses wartime sexual violence by taking into account male gender issues. Part II continues the discussion from January’s public event by featuring Jocelyn Kelly of Harvard University who will explore masculinity issues in Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, where she has been interviewing members of militia groups in the region; and Elisabeth Wood of Yale University who will analyze the puzzling variation in patterns of sexual violence across conflicts and armed groups.  Robin J. Lerner, Counsel to the Committee on Foreign Relations of United States Senate will address the policy implications of the findings from these recent studies.
