The Institute puts on this signature course twice a year. The seminar is designed for NGO, UN, military, and government staff members involved in humanitarian operations. Its purpose is to enhance participants' ability to work together productively in complex environments of conflict and reconstruction.
The program focuses on building skills in conflict analysis, cross-cultural and inter-organizational communication, problem solving, negotiation, and mediation. Through promoting interaction among diverse participants with distinct but overlapping missions, the program also aimed to develop participants' capacity to build trust, identify shared objectives, and work collaboratively.
The most recent program had 33 participants, including nongovernmental and government officials as well as military personnel representing seven countries.
