Dr. Sagi-Schwartz will draw insights and present findings from the field of human development regarding the impact of chronic warfare on current and future generations. He will discuss the implications of his research for the resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Dr. Sagi-Schwartz is a professor of psychology and social work at the University of Haifa in Israel, where he has also served as the dean of the graduate school and, since 1992, as the director of the Center for the Study of Child Development. He has held visiting positions at the University of Utah, the University of Maryland at College Park, the U.S. National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, Regensburg University (Germany) as an Alexander von Humboldt Scholar, and Leiden University (Netherlands) as the holder the Mary Main Chair on Attachment across the Life Span. Dr. Sagi-Schwartz holds a master’s in social work, a master’s in psychology, and a Ph.D. in developmental psychology and social work from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
