Lebanon's New Government:
Join IFES and USIP experts for a public discussion of Lebanon's elections.
USIP's Lebanon Working Group together with IFES will co-host this public panel discussion. Panelists will provide in-depth analysis of Lebanon's recently-formed government, as well as the June parliamentary elections that preceded its formation. After several months of arduous negotiations, Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri, announced a consensus government comprised of both his March 14th coalition and the opposition March 8th bloc. Why did it take so long for a government to be formed? What should the new government's priorities be? Will it be effective? What should U.S. policy toward Lebanon be?
