Exploring Careers in Peacebuilding
Have you thought about exploring a career in peacebuilding but don’t know where to start? Throughout the course of our work with students, we at the Public Education Department have encountered many who are inspired to pursue a career in the peacebuilding field. Students are interested to know what it takes to get a job in this field and how they can set themselves up to be successful as a peacebuilding professional.
In an effort to help answer some of these questions, we have developed a resource for young people that offers guidance on steps a young person can take and the options he or she has as they contemplate a career in conflict management and peacebuilding. This resource showcases the keys to a career in peacebuilding in four categories: Learning, International Experience, Languages, and Internships. Here, young people can get insight into college majors, working or studying abroad, world languages, and job experiences that can help equip them for the peacebuilding field.
