The workshop sensitized participants to the mutual benefits of public-private partnerships in peace-building activities, demonstrated ways the public and private sectors can work together, and discussed techniques to enhance the capabilities of participants and their organizations to accomplish this goal. The workshop trainers emphasized the vital role of the private sector in peace-building, especially investment and the creation of companies and jobs that would allow people to provide for their families and to build a sustainable life outside the sphere of conflict.
