Mitrovica's Future: Is Reconciliation Possible?
Presented by United States Institute of Peace, The Search for Common Ground, and The Washington Network on Children and Armed Conflict (WNAC)
Mitrovica, six years after the war in Kosovo, still remains a divided city between Albanians and Serbs. Yet, under the leadership of the Catholic Relief Service, a multi-ethnic initiative of young people has been established to engage peers and top-level leadership in inter-ethnic dialogue and to target initiatives that benefit the wider community.
Young members of the Mitrovica City Wide Youth Council will visit Washington to raise awareness in the U.S. on current events in Kosovo and to heighten visibility of their work.
